B.A.G. Day

My Buy a Gun Day purchase:

Savage 10FCM Scout Rifle

A Savage 10FCM Scout Rifle has found it's way into my gun safe. I have been wanting to build a Scout Rifle for a good while now, BAG Day was a good excuse to get started. The Steyr Scout was a bit on the pricey side for me, but I think the Savage will do me just fine. The scope in the image is a Leupold FX-II 2.5x28 mm Scout scope, the same as I am going to use. A Harris Bi-pod and a Ching Sling and I am good to go.

Maybe Fits will let me hang out with the Hog Town Irregulars now.

Congrats on the new rifle. If there's anything that'd make me prouder than punch is a Texas Chapter of the Hogtown Irregulars.

The only absolutes are a flying of Old Glory at every meeting along with a recitation of the PLEDGE, swapping bodacious lies about anything firearm related, and a determined effort to invent a spray-on target group-tightener.

Which caliber did you get? I had one of these about five years ago in 7mm-08, but had to sell it during a period of unemployment. Had me one of the Leupold 4x Scout Scopes on it.

Loved the whole package. Wish I still had it.

Sorry about that. This one is .308.

Very nice, I tried to turn my M1 Carbine into a "Scout" concept with an Aimpoint, but some people aren't even convinced it's a rifle. ;-)

How will you be attaching the third sling stud?

I'm planning on drilling for an Uncle Mikes sling swivel stud.
