Democrat Leadership Trying to Close Fort Worth Gun Shows

New York and Colorado have been at the top of the news for horrendous anti-gun legislation.  New York has their laughable 7 round magazine capacity limitation and Colorado may very well ban most pump action shotguns along with other firearms they consider extra evil.  With all this gun banning going on in these liberal meccas, the Libs here in Texas feel a bit left out.  In an attempt (I guess) to get in the news and show the big wigs in the Democrat Party that he is a good Lib and ardently follows the party line, Tarrant County's Democratic Party leader has jumped into the anti-gun fray with a few ideas of his own.

Brandon Todd of MyFoxdfw.com reported that a Politician proposes Fort Worth gun show restrictions.

From the article:
Stephen Maxwell proposed three rules for any gun show within city limits: each show must require background checks, establish a seven-day waiting period and ensure anyone selling a gun is a licensed dealer. He believes these restrictions will help keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.
He says he believes that these local rules will keep guns out of "the hands of people who shouldn't have them".  I have to call Bull Shit on that.  He believes nothing of the sort.  The purpose of legislation or ordinances such as this is solely to shut down gun shows.  He also knows that this will never pass muster in Fort Worth or in the State of Texas.  This is just his way of getting his name associated with the gun grabber mafia.  Heck, Bloomburg may just throw him a few dollars to help him spread the work.

I have to admit, when I first read this I thought that Stepahn Maxwell was just another California transplant trying to turn Texas into the state he fled.  I was wrong, Stephen Maxwell is a native Texan, born in Amarillo of all places.  He is also a successful ambulance chaser who seems to have made his name in the Texas Bar.  From all appearances he is a smart man.  One has to wonder what has pushed him so far away from Liberty.

One Last Post on Biden and Shotguns

One last post on VP Joe Biden and shotguns, I promise.  Well, last post until he says something else stupid on the subject.

Biden tells every talking head who will have him that a shotgun is all anyone, especially women, need for home defense.  His expert home defense advise has included suggesting that going out on your back deck and firing off a couple of rounds into the air will deter home invaders and if you "want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door."

I certainly hope that if you have found your way to this blog, you understand that Biden's advice is absolutely some of the worst advise on defending your home and family that any public figure can give.  Even here in Texas, where we have some of the best laws protecting the home owner, firing a shotgun through your front door will get you arrested.  And if you actually happened to hit someone with your intentionally negligent discharging of your firearm, you will be convicted and most likely sued.

This is a Joe Biden approved home defense shotgun.

A Remington Model 870 Express.  A very solid, dependable, and popular shotgun.

This is not a Joe Biden approved shotgun.  As a matter of fact this shotgun would be banned for civilian use by the likes of Joe Biden and Diane Feinstein.

This is a Model 870 Express Tactical With Blackhawk! SPEC OPS II.  This must be extra evil.  Look at all that black furniture.  This shotgun would be banned because it has a pistol grip and an adjustable stock.  This model also has a shorter barrel.  The action is exactly the same as the regular Express.  This shotgun just has different cosmetic features, features that do make it easier to deploy in the hallways and small rooms of a home.

Which of the above weapons would you rather have in hand when defending your family and home?  I'll bet dimes for dollars it is the one that Biden would ban.
