The Pistol is Done

The last time I mentioned the latest Louder Than Words fundraiser, the pistol was not yet 100%.

That is no longer the case.


LTW #4 (4TC1s) has arrived! And it is one handsome firearm.

You know what is pretty cool? A chance at owning this fine pistol, and the excellent package that comes with it, goes for only $10.00. That's right, for just $10.00 you have the opportunity to own a pistol that has been built by some of the very best in the industry. Stan Chen, Chuck Rogers, Don Williams, Ned Christiansen, and the shop of Yost-Bonitz Custom are just a few of the folks who have worked on this project.

What do you get with this package? Heck, the list would be shorter to mention what you do not get. The package includes leather, spare parts, extra magazines finished to match the pistol, ammo, more ammo, a knife by Chris Reeve, some more leather, training, optics and one hell of a fine pistol.

Just before Christmas of last year, Doug Campbell of Frankfort, IL found out he was the lucky winner of The Fifty Caliber Institute's drawing for a Browning M3 Heavy-Barrel in Semi-Auto. Now that it my kind of Christmas present. Oh darn, Doug lives in Illinois, bummer. As you probably know, Illinois anti's are working pretty hard to ban .50 caliber firearms. One of the primary organizations working against this ban is The Fifty Caliber Institute (FCI). FCI raises funds through membership drives and raffles. This years raffle is pretty outstanding.

2007 Lone Star Friends of NRA Banquet

This years Lone Star Friends of NRA Banquet appeared to be a success. I would guess that there were somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 people in attendance and a lot of money exchanged hands during the raffles and auctions. As far as the raffles go, I was skunked once again, but we had a blast anyway.

My brother-in-law flew in from Arkansas and came with us to the banquet. We sat with some folks off of the Texas CHL Forum and enjoyed a very good Bar-B-Que dinner.

One of the live auction firearms that caught my eye was a limited edition S&W 460XVR.

The bidding rapidly went beyond my limit for the evening, but ended just below retail value.

Another firearm in the live auction that could have gotten me into trouble was this Kimber Model 84M Classic in .338 Federal.

This was another limited edition firearm, it was number 1 of 1050. Someone got a good deal on this one.

I do believe that fun was had by one and all. Good food, good people and a great time.

This custom gun, knife, and holster package worth $12,000 was donated by the very good folks over at Louder Than Words. The drawing was held at Shot Show 2007. LTW raised $16,000 for Cops 4 Kids and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. All I can say is that these guys done good.

LTW is a collaboration of some of the country's finest craftsmen in custom guns, knives, and holsters, who donate their work to charity. If you are in the market for a custom firearm, you should look to one of these fine craftsmen to do your work.
