I am a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. The right to keep and bear arms was included in the Bill of Rights so that when, by a long train of abuses, government evinces a methodical design upon our natural rights, we will have the means to protect and recover those rights.Do you know who he is?
In fact, if we make the judgment that our rights are being systematically violated, we have not merely the right, but the duty, to resist and overthrow the power responsible. That duty requires that we maintain the material capacity to resist tyranny, if necessary--something that is very difficult to do if the government has all the weapons. A strong case can be made, therefore, that it is a fundamental DUTY of the free citizen to keep and bear arms.

My Google-Fu is strong.
BTW, took my CHL class on Saturday and am mailing the application packet to the DPS tomorrow. Woohoo!
Alex, who is Alan Keyes....
While the jeopardy song plays.
I can't believe a candidate would support such a position. To think he actually read the constitution and realized the right to bear arms is there to for people to protect themselves from others, including the government! I was starting to think it was only there so we could go hunting and shoot at paper targets!
Wait, good ol Alan said that! He is one of those crazy people like Ron Paul who actually believe in what the Framers of the constitution had in mind when they forged this nation.
Congrats jt on your CHL. I finished my class 2 weeks ago and am now waiting for the square wheels of bureaucracy to turn.
Congrats, JT.
Keyes is the man who DESERVES to be the first President with African ancestry.
Not the empty suit the Dems are running.
Alan Keyes has been a favorite politician of mine for a good while. He is a bit radical though, taking about citizens having duties and responsibilities.
He expects free citizens to do more than suckle the .gov teat.
