Our own history--although embracing a period less than a century--affords abundant proof that most if not all of our domestic troubles are directly traceable to violations of the organic law and excessive legislation....

Our own history--although embracing a period a little over two centuries--affords abundant proof that most if not all of our domestic troubles are directly traceable to violations of the natural resources wisdom and excessive legislation....

This nation is dependent upon foreign oil, an therefore gave up some independence for it is dependent upon foreign oil...

This nation exported its manufacturing because excessive laws over-took the manufacturing industry...

This nation exported its debt, because American's no longer had a surplus of savings and no longer invested in the nation's future...

In all of these, America has given away portions of its independence.

Our foreign policy is restricted, because of our dependence upon foreign nations... as a result, a vile, nasty extremism is rolling across the world, just as German tanks once rolled across the world...

Some Americans perfer to stick their heads in sand, ignore the truth, make up names for those spreading the truth - "fear mongorers" and such...

I sound like a Republican because these are Republican views, but these views used to be mainstream American views.... the Democratic Party has left me...

Very well stated. I would differ only that the Republicans have also left us and have become a large part of the problem.

The first fix, I truly believe, is term limits for all federal offices. These career politicians have bent around so many corners that they don't even know which way their noses are pointing any more.

Term limits are demonstrate one of the great GOP hypocracies, for those of us who remember the Contract for/on America.

Term limits would go a long way towards cleaning up both parties.
