I did not go to the Market Hall gun show this weekend, but from all accounts it was packed. Folks were lined up around the block to get in, and once inside were greeted by vendors asking $30 for standard GI AR mags and hundreds of dollars over MSRP for the AR's themselves. I understand that one vendor had SKS's for $600. The demand is exceptionally high, and with that demand dealers are asking an exceptional price for their wares. There is nothing wrong with that, but these vendors risk backlash. How are their customers going to feel when they get home, hop on the Internet and find just how badly they were taken? There is also the fact that those of us who do attend the gun shows on a regular basis have noticed who is doing the gouging and who is not. Those who have taken advantage of this situation will be remembered.
That being said, the dealers who are not using the recent run to gouge the heck out of us need to be highlighted. One such dealer is Model 1 Sales.
Instead of inflating their gun show pricing to take advantage of the recent "panic" buying, Model 1 Sales kept their prices low and continued to offer quality products at a good price. As a matter of fact, I was told that their pricing at Market Hall was slightly lower than their last catalog.
Model 1 Sales offers a very good selection of AR-15 parts, kits and accessories. I own Model 1 Sales components and I highly recommend them for all of your EBR needs.

I concur. I use them for parts for my AR15 builds, and they are great.
It really is ridiculous the prices they were charging at the show.
Taking advantage?
It's called capitalism, supply and demand.
You will remember them in the future?
You're assuming there will be a future for gun dealers. That's a bet I wouldn't make.
That is true George, if they were selling at those inflated prices, more power to them. But I think that their pricing was ill-conceived. When these folks go to Academy Sports for cleaning supplies and find the same AR that they purchased at the gun show for $1500 selling for $999, they might not appreciate it.
The gunnies who attend gun shows on a regular basis and make up the customer base for these dealers will likely support the dealers like Model 1 Sales who continued to provide a quality product at a reasonable price during this purchasing frenzy.
i just ordered an ar mount from model 1 sales for my soon to receive nikon scope. both were ordered on-line. i too am a regular gun show supporter, but i choose to stay home the last 2 shows because of the gouging that was taking place. i believe in capitalism like all the rest, but when the hurricane is coming, should i double the price of my plywood?
While it's great that consumers can find dealers who are willing to forgo potential profit, I worry about the long-term viability of those same dealers. Specifically, there's only a certain amount of CNC time available from the half-dozen manufacturers of lowers, and that time has been sold out through the middle of next year, i.e. it will take until the middle of next year to replenish the shelves. What are the sold-out dealers going to sell and live off of in the meantime? Accessories and ammo are just as badly backlogged. Maybe they're hoping to give away the razor to sell the hell out of the blades, but when folks are buying 100 blades at the same time they're buying the razor, you aren't going to see them in the store for quite a while...
I can see your point Anon. Model 1 Sales still has plenty of stock. I believe they saw the writing on the wall a good ways back and prepared, unlike the folks paying 150% MSRP.
i agree as well. just don't make it impossible for me to continue to support my local gunnies and i wall stand by their side. we are all in this together.
They make a good product. My heavy bbl AR has one of their uppers on it and it's a keeper.
I need a complete upper receiver assembly for my M-4.(rifling shot out)Less installation trouble rather than just ordering a barrel.I was a little worried about sending model "1" a $400 dollar money order, only to be put on back order. From what i have read here and at other sites, sounds like i do not have anything to worry about.
