Senate confirms Holder as first black AG

Well...

The vote was 75-21. Hutchison and Cornyn voted against the confirmation of Eric Holder. I wish one of them had what it took to make the Dems overcome a filibuster. Yes, I do understand that there were enough votes to easily overcome the filibuster, but someone should have drawn the line in the sand.

To see how your senator voted, go here.

Republicans voting for Holder?

Bond (R-MO)

Chambliss (R-GA)

Collins (R-ME)

Corker (R-TN)

Graham (R-SC)

Grassley (R-IA)

Gregg (R-NH)

Hatch (R-UT)

Isakson (R-GA)

Kyl (R-AZ)

Lugar (R-IN)

McCain (R-AZ)

Murkowski (R-AK)

Sessions (R-AL)

Snowe (R-ME)

Specter (R-PA)

Voinovich (R-OH)

If any of these critters belong to you, maybe you should express your disappointment to them for their overt dereliction of duty as a United States Senator and your representative.

You can read all about the vote here.

I live in AZ and I wrote to Kyl and McCain yesterday and expressed my "dismay" that they would vote in favor of confirming this idiot. The only other state with two "republican" senators that both voted in favor was Utah, but Orin Hatch is only a republican in name it seems lately...very disappointing. I hope it isn't true but I read somewhere that the Obamastration cut a deal with the repubs to appoint him and they agreed not to persue criminal charges against anyone in the bush admin...politics as usual it seems.
