Could someone please explain to me why the Congress of these United States is holding hearings on steroid use by professional baseball players?
Instead of trying to clean up baseball, maybe they should clean up the .gov.

HELL YEAH!
RIGHT ON!
And all that good sh*t!!
JR, I too was wondering the same thing. Last time I checked baseball was a private entity that makes millions of dollars. Here we are spending taxpayer money to investigate this scandal. Seems to me that MLB is run by a bunch of cheapskates and they found a way to get legal services for free.

Because it would be kind of silly to investigate steroid use by chess players? ;-)

Now that, my friend, was funny.
Because the fedgov is swimming in so much cash that they have both the funding and the time to spare?
Because they have so much funding and manpower that they don't fear resistance from the people, and they're mainly concerned with a) their own self-preservation, and b) looking like benevolent rulers?
Because they've been ignoring the limitations of the enumerated powers in the Constitution?
or
Because the people continue to allow them to exercise this type of power?
Honestly, there are something like 2.4 million people employed by the federal government, including USPS workers. That's larger than the individual populations of about
a third of the States. That's an enormous amount of people to execute such a short list of duties as defined in the Constitution.
As they grandstand over players chemical modifications to their bodies, the border stays open, the BATF continues to ignore congressional rebuke, judicial appointees remain unconfirmed and victim disarmament zones in our schools continue to be soft targets for any whack job or terrorist who gets an inkling to create some mayhem.
