What is a Good Capitalist to do...

...when the country you live and work in denies it's populace the right to proper arms for self protection?

Why make a buck.. err.. pound of course.

It is reported that 50% of people in London are worried about security and sleep with some form of self-defence to hand, for use against intruders.

The 'Safe Bedside Table' has a removable leg that acts as a club and a top that doubles as a shield for self-defence. This is for people who are willing to take on an intruder, providing an extra sense of security whilst in bed.

Night Stand as Home Defense Tool

This saddens me, but what the heck, they would probably sell like hotcakes in CA, DC, NY and MA.

Personally I prefer my home defense tool to be sitting atop my night stand:

Kimber Pro Carry II

I lock the little gun safe at night when the Grand Kids sleep over. Oh... V does like her dolls.

Just what the peasants were allowed to own way back when in Merry Ole England. Fake wooden swords and shields. Because only the special people could arm themselves.

Good Lord but this story is depressing on so many levels.

Of course, if a British subject were to actually hit someone in self-defense, they would be hauled off to jail, and the burglar would probably get a "talking to".

sent 'em a letter:

Folks:

I came across an article about your Safe Bedside Table, and I must say
its mere existence is a sad, sad commentary on the state of society in
Great Britain.

But not for the reason you probably think.

What it says - nay, screams - is that your country is charging at full
speed into the dark ages, where the serfs were at the mercy of their
lords for protection from thugs when (and if) their lords decided to
bestir themselves. Good God, it's the twenty-first century and you are
reduced by your government to defending your homes and lives with a
*wooden stick*?

I weep for your country.

John,

You have quite the name to live up to.

That is a great letter, wish I would have thought to send it.
