...piece of Federal anti-gun legislation for this session has been introduced in the United States Senate.
Senator Frank Lautenberg has introduced the "Gun Show Background Check Act of 2009".
Thomas does not have it listed yet, but from the presser it sounds as bad as can be expected.

BAH!!! Typical East-Coast libberturd elitist thinking, regulate everything to within an inch of it's life. How about we, the people, regulate your paycheck, and make it so expensive for you to do your governmental business that it drives YOU out of office?
My answer to the the over-convoluted, messy, firearms-tracking, anti-Second Amendment, Lautenberg proposel??
As you come in the door to the gun show, you show an ID. You get an instant NICS check. If you pass, you get a "YES" stamp on the back of your hand. If you fail, you get a "NO" stamp on your hand. When you go to a table to purchase a gun, you "show your hand". When the day is done, you wash your hands & all is erased.

Another suggestion: If you gonna talk the talk, you also gonna walk the walk:
All those in the Federal government, in favor of gun control, raise your hands. . . . (count is taken).
Now, by law, you are allowed to have a Secret Service detail to protect you. But, does it say that such detail has to be armed?
So, all those in favor of gun control shall have an UNARMED Security datail.
Any questions? Too bad, too late. Dismissed.

Where did the senator get the statistic that one quarter of gun sales at gun shows take place between private individuals? I've never seen that statistic published anywhere. Maybe it came from the same place the "90%" came from reference guns in Mexico?
