Ruger's New Revolver

Introducing the Ruger Lightweight Compact Revolver (LCR).

Ruger LCR

Ruger calls it "...one of the most significant new revolver designs in over a century."

It looks interesting, true recoil reduction in a lightweight .38 Special +P would be pretty cool. The price tag isn't, $525 MSRP.

don't worry, if it's anything like the LCP .380 it will cost you around 700.00

That msrp puts it between a Charter Arms and Smith&Wesson revolver of similar make. So, I don't think it is that bad.

dw - Do you think this revolver will generate the demand of the LCP?

Tim - You are right, the price is comparativly not bad. And if they did tame the recoil for +P rounds in an airweight handgun, folks will pay it.

probably won't generate the demand of the LCP. i was really pokin a little fun there. but it has surely sparked my interest. i've been checking out the lightweight .38's for a while now and was concerned about the control of +P. this one may put me back into the market.

Hopefully it has better recoil control than my S & W 642 .38.
I guess we will have to wait for some field testing.

Was just checking out the LCR. Does indeed look interesting. I have had my LCP for a couple of months now but, I am looking for my wife a handgun. (yeah, sure ;) My LCP is my constant companion. I paid $275.00 plus tax for it. My gun dealer doesn't believe in gouging his customers.
