Concealed Carry on College Campuses

One of the three major RKBA bills that will be introduced during the upcoming Texas Legislature will concern the right of Concealed Handgun License (CHL) holders to carry their firearms on state funded college campuses.

If conservatives make it out to the polls, and if we can keep a pro-individual rights majority representing us in Austin, this bill has a good chance of passing.

This underscores why it is important for you to vote. If you are not registered, you only have about two weeks left to submit your paperwork. It is easy, just click the link on my sidebar.

Back to campus carry.

Alex Ransom has written a very good article for University of Texas at Dallas paper, the UTD Mercury.

Out of every hundred people walking around in a mall and shopping for groceries, one person has a handgun, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau and U.S. Department of Safety. Walk across campus lines, and only the police can legally possess firearms. Why can't the same responsible citizens outside a university carry them on campus for defense?
Head on over and read the rest. Alex does a good job of stating facts covering the right side of this issue.

I got a Kelly Hancock sign in my yard today. Thank you for helping me find out more about him a few weeks ago.

The sign magically appeared today. I e-mailed the campaign a few days ago asking if they had any, and today there it was.

Mr. Hancock seems like the kind of person that would be in favor of allowing concealed carry at state universities.

Do you what would happen (as far as universities go) if they pass the open carry law?

Oh, and did you ever try your chocolate covered bacon?

Sorry that it has taken my so long to respond. You are very welcome, I am happy to have helped.

I think that the restrictions on open carry will follow the Texas CHL statutes.

I'm still waiting on the recipie for the chocloate covered bacon.
