New Business Card

I had a splitting headache when I got home from work this evening so fiddled around with coming up with a business card.

This is the front, what do you think?

Get rid of that ugly window thingy next to the Alt key and it would be perfect. :)

Quite appropriate!

Personally, I would make your blog name in a color. It shouldn't be a bright color - maybe a deep maroon or something. Just something to make it pop just a little (not too much!) off the keyboard.

It may not be the look you want, which is fine. It's just that it took me quite a while to see the blog name, and I presume you want that to be a little more visible.

To chime in with Bitter, you want the blog name to pop. Right now it is almost hidden.

I suggest a bar across the bottom of medium opacity to give a weight to the image. On the bar, you could put your blog name.

Just a thought.

Robb and Bitter covered it, love the concept. A little tweak and you are there.

Good work.

I tried different colors for the text and none of them worked for me at all.

If I can figure out how to do "medium opacity" in MS Paint, I'll give that a shot.

Turk, shoot me an address and I will get one off to you.

It's not bad...but I think it'd convey better if you had a round of .45 ACP standing up on the keyboard.

Not quite sure I like the text placement. Suggest rotating the text and placing it vertically on the right end. Also consider making the text block black or gun metal grey and the text white.

I like it the way that it is. Though I would usually agree that the text should "pop" as others have said, the location, color, and font make you search for it, slightly, thus forcing you to not only read the text but understand the non-verbals that the picture reveal.

The 1911 works because "we" all recognize it. Adding a round might remove all doubt for the subject masses.

I would try photoshopping the keyboard so the center keys spell out "A Keyboard and a .45" in bold and dim the rest of the keyboard some.

J.R., send me the picture by itself and I'll do something with it for you.

Paint ain't your friend.

Hey Reese, that is kind of what I was going for. I almost didn't put any text on the front of the card, but the space bar needed something.

Ride Fast, V suggested the same but that would be a royal pain using MS Paint.

Glad you liked it GB.
