Responding to the Brady Bunch

Pretty much every gun blog out there has covered the Fox News debate between Eric Thompson, president of TGSCOM.inc (TheGunSource and TopGlock), and Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Bunch.

For those of you who have not seen the debate:

Eric Thompson does an excellent job of defending our RKBA in this debate against the professional face of the anti gun movement. Not only is Eric advocating for our right to keep and bear arms in the public arena, he is also making it easier for us to afford quality firearms for self defense.

GREEN BAY – A regrettable tie to two mass murders on college campuses is spurring a firearms dealer to forgo profit for the sake of preventing future loss of life...

...Today, Thompson is backing up his words with actions. For the next two weeks, Thompson will not take any profit on firearms sales from any of his over 100 Web sites. Instead, Thompson will offer guns to customers for the same cost he pays for them.

“I hope and pray I will never again be in a position where I am asked questions about selling items used in a crime,” said Thompson. “The next news story I want to be involved in is how I sold a firearm to someone who helped stop a mass murderer. By forgoing a profit, I hope to help give law-abiding citizens the tools to prevent tragedy.”

Guns at Cost

Now that is an excellent response to to the media hype that has been focused upon TheGunSource and TopGlock.

So, what did I pick up?

Ruger SP 101

MFG# 5720 : Ruger SP 101, Double-Action Revolver, Model KSP-321XL, 357 Magnum Caliber, 2 1/4 Inches Barrel, Stainless Finish, Fixed Sights. This sale made it much easier to afford a Ruger, now I can even afford to feed it.

Thanks Eric, I do appreciate it.

Edit: I'll have to fix the image later. Posting from work is a pain. Fixed

It's on backorder, but this is what I ordered.

I'm like a little kid--without even knowing when the gun will arrive, I already ordered ammo (and also this).

all of this guys other websites are selling the same stuff at the same price without the "at cost" pitch. ie. the urbanarmory.com. and i found a few more. kinda makes you wonder.

but the prices still look good.

Regarding the cost... All of my websites (100+) are a big pain to update across the board. We put banners on the websites that receive the most traffic as that would have the greatest effect. After May 7th, our normal prices will resume.

Eric has one helluva good rep. Just saying.

Anon;

If all of Eric's sites are selling at the same discounted price, that is further proof that he is a man of his word.

Eric;

Thanks for what you are doing in the public eye. There are not many who would have handled this situation like you have. Thank you for speaking out.

45superman;

You are going to have to let me know what you think after putting a few rounds down range with the Judge.

Mr. Thompson,
I didn't expect to get a chance to thank you for what you're doing, but since you seem to be following the comments on this blog post, I do want to take the opportunity to thank you, and to express my admiration for what you are doing.

You are becoming a powerful voice for gun rights.

Will do, JR.

but, the 100+ websites does lead most (unsure) people to believe that you are pushing. i don't agree with them, but i'm not sure what i think about searching the web for a firearm and every site i found belongs to eric.

I had that very same gun once upon a time. You better hang on for your life when you're running .357 Magnum through it. ;-)

Eric was on the Mancow show this morning and neither Mancow nor his assembly of brainless dupes could understand what Eric was trying to do and basically dissed him to the 9's for going to Virginia Tech.

Marissa (SP?) Sanchez even referred to Eric as "Satan". All this coming from a supposedly conservative leaning talk show. I tried calling in but to no avail. Good thing too. I was not pleased.
